Step 1: Choosing a site
Step 2: Installing A Generator
When deliberating on the ideal location for your generator, it’s crucial to identify a stable area with proper drainage to prevent flooding. Please note that the generator must be situated at a minimum distance of 3 meters from vents, air inlets, and the gas meter vent. Opting for a site closer to the electric meter and natural gas supply line can result in cost savings during the installation process. After selecting the location, we will handle any necessary local permit requirements on your behalf.
Before the generator can be installed, it’s essential to prepare the site properly. Typically, this involves creating a foundation by either laying a bed of pea gravel or pouring a cement slab. Our skilled installer will ensure that the placement adheres to all necessary clearances and requirements to guarantee a seamless and safe installation process.
Step 3: Connecting Fuel and Electrical
Step 4: Simulating an Outage
Once the generator is properly positioned, the next step is to install a transfer switch adjacent to your electrical panel box. Wiring is then run, connecting the generator to your electrical panel. Finally, the fuel line is installed to ensure the generator’s proper operation. This comprehensive installation process guarantees a seamless and efficient backup power solution for your home or facility.
Upon the completion of the installation process, our team will conduct a simulated power outage to verify that your new generator and transfer switch function precisely as expected during such an event. This crucial step ensures the reliability of your backup power system. Following this, we will establish your generator’s “Exercise” routine, which consists of a weekly test run. This regular exercise routine guarantees that all components are in optimal working condition and fully prepared to provide reliable power in the event of an actual power outage.
